Effective Business Writing Skills
Today most professionals not only need to be good at what they do, they also need to be able to communicate well in writing. This course provides a practical introduction to business writing. The course covers what the writing process is; writing succinctly and with clarity; getting to the point; and generating, ordering and linking ideas.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
The course has been designed for professionals whose work requires the writing of high quality reports and business documents for internal (e.g. management) and/or external (e.g. clients, funding bodies) readers.
BENEFITS
By the end the course, participants will be armed with a wide range of effective strategies for writing and editing reports and other formal documents. They will learn to appreciate the demands on readers’ time and how to get information across to them as clearly as possible. They will also learn techniques, which will help them pull a mass of material into shape on the page, and be able to turn it into an effective business document. Participants will be able to produce quality reports that do justice to their work.
Program
This two-day course offers valuable time to think about effective report writing and to do some practical exercises. It will cover the following:
